Learn from practitioners and real-life experiences

The International Exchange Event is designed for professionals working in or around shared mobility, including public authorities, mobility operators, researchers, knowledge institutions, NGOs and civil society organisations.

Across two days in Ghent and Brussels, participants will exchange experiences and explore practical challenges and solutions related to electric carsharing. The programme combines expert contributions, interactive discussions and site visits, offering opportunities to learn from the work of other cities, operators and European projects.

The event is intended as a practitioner-level exchange rather than an introductory session. Participants are expected to have a basic familiarity with shared mobility and an interest in sharing experiences and learning from others.

Explore four key themes

The programme covers four areas that are central to the development and implementation of electric carsharing:

Electrification of carsharing

Explore the business case for electric carsharing, charging strategies, vehicle-to-grid integration and the user experience, with contributions from practitioners working directly on these topics.

Data and digital tools

Discover how cities and other stakeholders use data, dashboards and digital tools to better understand carsharing and support policy and implementation decisions.

Inclusion and communication

Learn from practical experiences of making carsharing more inclusive, communicating with potential users and understanding the impacts of shared mobility initiatives.

E-carsharing in housing developments

Discuss how electric carsharing can be integrated into residential developments and explore approaches to making shared mobility part of wider neighbourhood planning.

The programme also includes a site visit to a vehicle-to-grid pilot in Ghent and an optional afternoon visit in Brussels focusing on e-carsharing and social housing.

Two days in Ghent and Brussels

The event will begin on 30 November at the Way To Go offices in Ghent, with sessions on electrification and data, followed by a site visit and an opportunity for informal networking.

On 1 December, the programme continues at The EGG in Brussels, with sessions on inclusion, communication and e-carsharing in housing developments, followed by an interactive exchange on lessons learned. An optional afternoon site visit will explore e-carsharing and social housing in Brussels.

Taking place immediately before the POLIS Annual General Assembly and Conference, the event is also an opportunity for participants travelling to Brussels for the conference to extend their stay and take part in a dedicated exchange on shared electric mobility.

Register your interest

Participation is limited to 30 people, including speakers, to support an engaging and interactive exchange.

Interested participants are invited to submit an expression of interest through the registration form. As places are limited, submitting the form does not guarantee participation; applications will be reviewed based on the relevance of participants' experience and interests, as well as their potential contribution to the discussions.
